Born, 1956, in Mason City ("River City") Iowa, educated in the Newman Catholic School system there. B.M.E. from the University of Northern Iowa (Cedar Falls) in 1978, and M.M. from the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music in 1980 (Music Education and Wind Conducting).
Assistant Band Director in the Little Miami Local School District, 1980 - 1983.
Director of Bands in the North College Hill City School District, 1983 - 2010.

St. Marys High School, May 1941. Enlisted in the U.S. Navy, November 1942.
Attended USN School of Music December 1942 to November 1943.
Served aboard the USS California in the Pacific Theatre December 1942 to January 1946.
Stationed at the Philadelphia Navy Yard February 1946 to November 1948.
BSEd in 1952 and a MED in 1953 from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio
Taught at Haydenville, Ohio Elementary School, 1951 - 1952 (part time).
Director of Bands in the City School District of Jackson, Ohio from 1953 to 1960
Director of Bands at NCH City Schools from 1960 to 1983.
Retired, July 1, 1983.
Daniel Walker

Born in 1928 in Cincinnati to William G. and Ivy A. Walker
A trumpeter, he had degrees from the University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati College of Music. He Married his wife Mary Lou in 1947 while he was serving in the Air Force Military Band.
He was Director of Bands at NCH from 1950 to 1960.
Dan moved to California in 1960 so he could attend the University of Southern California.
He taught in the Torrence Unified School District for the next 35 years. During this time Dan enjoyed being the owner of the Lomita Toy Circus. His band, The Dan Walker Big Band (or Swing Machine) was one of his greatest passions - they performed in the South Bay area for over 30 years.
Dan passed away peacefully at his home in Ranch Palos Verdes , California on January 17, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; his brother, Garland; four children, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
